Whether you’re recovering from a summer of weddings, coming back from your annual lake trip, or getting the kids off to school—or perhaps all of the above—there’s a lot going on as we head into fall this year. And it can feel tricky to find your groove in the kitchen again.
We know the scheming it takes to make even a single meal happen—the ups and downs of feeding yourself and other humans. But then you bite into that first, crispy, wonky-looking Honeycrisp apple. You put nutmeg and cinnamon on high rotation. Sure, you drink out of a measuring cup because all the cups are dirty. But then you turn up Harry Styles and do a little dance when you hack a snack from yesterday’s leftovers.
If you’re making it happen, you’ve got a groove. And we want to see your fall grooves! So we’re throwing a dance contest—and you and all your wonky produce, silliest moves, and fall spirit are invited to share your #imperfectgroove. The grand prize? A $350 credit for Imperfect Foods (+ some street cred).
How it works
- Choose your favorite song
- Show us your kitchen groove (if you need a little inspo, see below)
- Post your video to Instagram and/or TikTok using #imperfectgroove before 10/5
Apple-solutely anything goes
- Turnip the beet and show us your best “I have tasty leftovers so I don’t need to cook” dance, do a little jig with a wrinkly pepper, or put your produce on stage solo. Whatever feels groovy!
- Have fun, play with your food, and be yourself
- Your funkiest leftovers and wonkiest produce are all welcome
- Your video can be as long or as short as you want
- Bonus points if your Imperfect box makes an appearance

There’s no wrong way to groove, and we will do our best to reshare as many amazing videos tagged #imperfectgroove from our Instagram and TikTok accounts as we can.
When it comes to picking a winner, we’re looking for the grooves that stand out for their playfulness or quirkiness. This is all about playing with our food, after all! Our team of Imperfectionists will look at all the videos shared to #imperfectgroove over the course of the contest and pick a winner and runner-up whose grooves are the most engaging and memorable.
We will reshare as many videos tagged #imperfectgroove from our Instagram and TikTok accounts as we can. Note: Your groove needs to be shared publicly for us to be able to reshare.
We will message you via Instagram or TikTok to let you know if your groove is chosen as a winner. We’ll also ask for the email address connected to your Imperfect account so that we can add your Imperfect Foods credit to your account.
You’ll receive your prize in the form of Imperfect credit in your account, which can be used toward any grocery order with us. The grand prize winner will win $350 USD in Imperfect Foods credit, and the runner-up will receive $150 USD in Imperfect Foods credit.
In order to receive the credit, we’ll need the email address connected to your Imperfect account. It may take up to 30 days after you have been notified for the credit to appear in your Imperfect account. Imperfect credit doesn’t expire.
You must be 18 years or older and located in the U.S. to enter the contest. You don’t have to be an Imperfect customer in order to share your groove on social, but you do have to have an Imperfect account in order to receive your Imperfect Foods credit if you win.
Yes! Individuals can submit as many grooves as they like, but you can only win once.
