There’s muffin wrong with an oaty, warm apple muffin topped with a brown sugar cinnamon crumble for breakfast. Or second breakfast, or lunch, or after school snack, or post-dinner-pre-dessert palate cleanser. Fresh apples, rolled oats, whole wheat flour, and coconut oil make this fall treat a little healthy, very tasty, and perfect fuel for a day of leaf-peeping.
Makes 12 Cinnamon Apple Muffins
Just confirming… 305 degrees not 350? That seems a bit unusual.
When do you add the apples?
The recipe does not specify when to add the shredded apples. I presume with the wet ingredients? Also, this says to bake at 305 degrees. Shouldn’t that be 350?
Thanks for pointing that out so we could correct this post! The apples are added with the wet ingredients and the oven should be set to 350!
Is the heat setting a typo? It says 305 degrees but should it be 350?
Oops! Yes that was a typo! We got that corrected to 350, thanks for letting us know!
Is there a print-friendly version? I might’ve just missed the button, but I think I looked pretty thoroughly. I was trying to print from my phone so I could make these immediately, if not sooner. ????
the PRINT button is located in the right hand corner above the Ingredients list…
Salt is not listed on ingredients. How much salt is needed?
I would like to print the Cinammon Apple Oat Muffin recipe, but there is nowhere to do so?????
The easy way to print when there is no print friendly version is to hold ctrl down, then click on p. It may not produce the clean copy you would obtain with the print friendly version, but simply use a pen to clean it up a bit.

Do you know how long they last at room temperature? Should I kept them in the fridge instead?
This recipe is super yummy and easy! I doubled the crumb topping to fill all 12 muffins and used AP Flour since I didn’t have wheat, it turned out good. I definitely recommend making if you have apples on hand.
So yummy! I made these last night and they were delicious! I used what I already had at home, so I swapped honey for maple syrup and melted butter in place of the coconut oil. I definitely recommend doubling the crumble topping! Saving this to make again!
This recipe says to add salt to dry ingredients, but not listed. Also, it does not say when to add brown sugar to muffin.
How much salt?
It the instructions it says to add salt but it’s not in the ingredient list. How much salt?
Where is the “print” button?

I just made these and YUM!!! The house smelled amazing, and the finished result is the yummiest, most moist muffins ever! The crumbly topping has the perfect crispness, and all the flavors come through nicely. I might add more cinnamon next time for just a bit more kick.
Also, the ingredients list doesn’t mention salt, but the instructions do. I guessed and used 1/2 tsp. I also don’t have a food processor, so I just threw the oats in whole (I only had quick-cooking on hand). They turned out well! 😀
Would oat flour be OK to use instead of rolled oats? If so, what measurement do you recommend?
Recipe doesn’t specify how much salt is to be added
The instructions mention adding salt to the dry ingredients, but I didn’t see an amount. I just did a dash!
I’m so excited to find a recipe for something that not only looks delicious, but has an ingredient list I can fill without going to the store! Do you happen to have nutritional info for this? I’d love if that became part of the recipe posts. 🙂

I made these as gifts for the holidays and they look and smell amazing!
I made a few alterations: didn’t food process the oats, kept them whole, doubled the crumb topping and peeled the apples. Besides that followed the recipe and they came out exactly as I hoped!
Also, they cooked in just under 20 mins
Such a great holiday gift! ????
Did you add salt and if so, so how much?
Yep! As mentioned in the recipe, 1 tsp is needed ????
List of ingredients says 1 tsp
Can I substitute applesauce in place of the oil? Normally it can be done in other baked goods. Coconut products are very high in fat & not allowed in my cardiac diet.
Yes, definitely!

Could you use steel cut quick oats instead of rolled? Would you still need to process them or could they go in whole?
Sure thing!
I just made a double recipe of these muffins and they’re fabulous! (I ate 3 already.) I didn’t read through the recipe and mixed the dry ingredients without processing the oats. I loved the texture and would make them with straight rolled oats every time. I cut the honey in half, and used coconut oil which added a lovely delicate flavor. I also added a bit of nutmeg.
Oooh your additions sound completely delish!
