Cozy Cinnamon Citrus Tea

You can use any citrus you like for this recipe though we recommend something with a little sweetness like oranges, grapefruit, or mandarins. Warm, comforting, and citrusy, this tea is a favorite for cold weather or, alternatively, when you’re feeling a little under the weather.

Makes 2-3 servings

2-3 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups freshly squeezed pomelo juice (grapefruits can also be used)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ tsp whole allspice berries
  • ½ cup water
  • Cinnamon sticks or pomelo slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine juice, honey, cinnamon stick, allspice, and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
  2. Cool slightly and strain tea from pulp and spices.
  3. Serve hot with cinnamon sticks or slices of pomelo.

Recipe Notes and Variations

  • There are so many ways you can use your leftover pomelo or grapefruit peels. You can zest a little extra flavor into your tea or baked goods, make a non-toxic kitchen cleaner, or add the peels to the braising liquid of a meat dish.
  • Not in the mood for hot tea? Try our Refreshing Mango Iced Tea

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. Sometimes we live up to our “imperfectness” and make mistakes. We’ve gone along and passed this along to our team though and made necessary adjustments.

What you people are doing is a great step into feeding the hungry I know that many don’t appreciate the food we have but I know that I’d ship out as much food as I could to those who needed it most I’m aware that most homeless shelters use the food that stores deem unfit for selling that’s just one way the people are saving from food waste but what you guys are doing is helping keep the poor people from dying of starvation and I thank you all for what you are doing
